Staff and pupils from GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) have been working towards achieving the LGBT Youth Scotland Charter Award for the school. We've achieved the Bronze level certificate by organising events throughout the year and setting up support for LGBT students.
Being awarded our LGBT Charter enables us to send a positive message, with confidence, that our school is a champion of LGBT inclusion where LGBTI staff and learners will be safe, supported and included. The LGBT Charter makes a clear statement that equality and diversity are at the heart of our school.
This is a fantastic achievement for the GSA and reflects their hard work and dedication towards improving the school experience for LGBT pupils.
We have regular meetings on Mondays, if you’d like to get involved come and speak to Miss Steel in E04 any time.
Wednesday Group – a safe, inclusive space for anybody (LGBT or not) to hang out and lunchtime and meet other likeminded people. We are here to help, share information and support younger students in the school who may be struggling with anything from their identity to their Maths homework. Look for posters in the school to see where we will be meeting this year.
